Fellow Men

Fellow Men
A wave breaks on
Dover Beach
where shattered
elbows, fractured knees
survive
as tokens.

Far above
on the cliff
a man points a finger
towards the unknown distant shores,
towards fellow men,
their teeth
crowned with gold,
grouped with pearls and a globe,
resting on a library of mahogany.
